Record calving and calf care

Connect a birth to the dam, register offspring, and continue their care records.

Record a calving

Open the dam’s record and choose Add record → Record calving, or use the calf registration page.
Check the dam and known sire, then complete the birth date and birth details.
Enter each offspring’s details and the requested placement information.
Complete the initial care fields that apply, then choose Record calving.
Review the resulting calf record and the dam’s breeding history.

Open the calf and use Calf care to review its care history.
Use Add record → Colostrum record for delivery date, time, quantity, unit, and any Brix reading.
Use Growth measurement to record later measurements.
If the calf is untagged, use More animal actions → Assign calf tag when the permanent tag is available.

Build an animal’s identity, placement, and lifetime record.

Record breeding activity and follow pregnancy checks, dry-off, and calving dates.

Find the original event and use the correction or reversal intended for that record.
